Arriva nuova nuova apposta per Collect 2012 la collana di
Barbara Paganin e, a mio parere, Londra è la città ideale per accoglierla. Eccola nella foto: un po’ barocca e punk, contestatrice e sentimentale, e soprattutto lontana da compromessi. È una storia di ricordo, sogno e rivoluzione. Per una associazione di idee un po’ assurda, mi fa pensare – nel suo senso, non nel suo aspetto – a una medaglietta smaltata con un bimbo in fasce che avevo della mia bisnonna. E c’è il colore, certo. Quello in toni diversi delle foglie del cavolo che fanno da lettino ai bambinelli, ma anche ai loro animaletti protettivi, ai loro spiriti custodi. Poi la chiusura, la testa con una “acconciatura” che la fa assomigliare ad una altera africana (pensare che è proprio la cosa che ho notato per prima). E, soprattutto, la composizione, la struttura nel suo insieme che ti fa dilungare immensamente sull’armonia prima di avventurarti alla scoperta di chi abita sulle singole foglie.
The new necklace by Barbara Paganin arrived just for Collect 2012 and, in my opinion London was the ideal place to welcome it. Here it is in the photo, a bit baroque and punk, protester and sentimental, and above all, far from compromises. It is a history of memories, dreams and revolution. It makes me think (regarding its meaning, not its appearance), of the enamel medal representing the babe in arms that I got from my great grandmother. Certainly there is colour. Different shades and tones of the cabbage leaves used as the bed for the babies, the protective animals and guardian angles. The clasp of the necklace, a head adorned so that it reminds one of a proud African woman, (this is just the first thing I noticed), and above all, the composition, the whole structure which allows you to admire the harmony before starting the adventure of discovering which small figures live on each leaf.
