About the blog

united kingdom The blog GioielloContemporaneo.it celebrates its 12th year online! A very long period during which my blog and I have been going round to meet, learn, inform ourselves to better understand and especially to describe the world of artists, galleries, exhibitions and collections.

For me, this online space is the opportunity to describe what I see and what I love about contemporary jewellery: its artists, the art works and the places. On the blog, I share my personal notes, creating a sort of “newspaper” of what I recon is most worthy, in a flow that begins with the observation ends in writing and passes through the heart, without forgetting to keep a critical eye.

Through the art of storytelling I want to describe the world of “contemporary jewellery” which focuses primarily on the innovation, the artist, the idea, the creative process. The cultural result and the preciousness lie in the project and the work and not so much (or better, not only) in the raw material. No matter whether it is made of paper, wood, plastic; of gold or titanium; of fabric or glass. The decision lies in the language one chooses to express oneself and that becomes the “rule of the game”.

Anna Giagnorio
